Greetings to all! A couple of big announcements to make today. First of all, the release date:

The Search will be released on April 14th!

It will initially be released through Steam and To accompany this there is a new trailer showing off new sights and sounds from the game. The trailer can be viewed below:

I'm also very pleased to announce that The Search will feature voice acting by Cissy Jones! She is well known for her performance in Firewatch as the voice of Delilah. I was so impressed with her performance I approached her soon after that game was released. Cissy has also contributed her voice acting talents to other games such as The Walking Dead and Life is Strange among many others.

Stay tuned for more updates in the coming week!

The Search will be getting an option to display clues while you are playing the game. It will be similar to The Room where every so often an option will pop up giving you the chance to sneak a peek at a clue for wherever you might get stuck. This feature wasn’t originally planned, but after a few rounds of playtesting it seems like the game would benefit from having it. Again, this will be an optional feature and can be turned off for those who want a challenge.clues

Explore mysterious worlds and search for clues to discover a forgotten message. The Search is a Myst-like point-and-click exploration game with a surreal twist.

What is it about? The Search is about a journey through four intriguing worlds, finding clues and items that will reveal their mysteries while at the same time bringing you closer to discover a forgotten truth.

What will the gameplay be like? It will be a point-and-click style very similar to the original Myst with pre-rendered graphics. Your goal is to search for clues that will reveal new paths through these worlds.

When will it be released? The 1st quarter of 2017 is the planned time frame. It will first be released on the PC platform.

Who is behind The Search? The Search is a one-man project created by Jason Godbey. This project is greatly inspired by other first person point-and-click adventure games like Myst and Riven. The Search has been in development since the middle of 2015 and was created solely in the spare time Jason had in between his day job as a 3D artist.
